Information sharing is a key component of the Director of National Intelligence’s strategy to better enable the Intelligence Community (IC) to provide timely and accurate information to decision-makers and warfighters at all levels of government. Intelligence Community Information Sharing serves as the Community’s resource for intelligence information sharing. In this capacity, Intelligence Community Information Sharing helps members of the IC:
- Identify information sharing points-of-contact
- Leverage Community information sharing resources
- Resolve intelligence information sharing challenges
- Understand IC information sharing rights & responsibilities
The Intelligence Community Information Sharing Executive is the Community’s focal point for information sharing issues. Intelligence Community Information Sharing supports the Intelligence Community Information Sharing Executive by facilitating development of standards, policies, and collaborative processes to guide the Intelligence Community’s transition from its historic culture of “need-to-know” to one of a “responsibility to provide.”
The Intelligence Community Information Sharing team, in collaboration with agencies throughout the IC and staff elements from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, addresses the full spectrum of intelligence information sharing through the following focus areas:

Develops the coordinated position for information sharing activities within the Intelligence Community and with its customers and partners.

Facilitates resolution of information sharing challenges at the lowest possible level through a collaborative, transparent process across the Intelligence Community.
