President Obama's announcement on Feb. 9 that he has selected the ODNI's Melissa Hathaway to lead a 60-day review of the government's cybersecurity policy and strategy received extensive coverage. Ms. Hathaway, the DNI's chief cybersecurity adviser, played a lead role in the development of the Comprehensive National Cyber Security Initiative (CNCI) and currently oversees coordination of CNCI activities and programs.
The review aims to ensure that cybersecurity initiatives are fully integrated, resourced and coordinated across the executive branch and with Congress and the private sector. Ms. Hathaway will head the review and will serve as Acting Senior Director for Cyberspace for the National Security and Homeland Security Councils during the review period.
