NCTC's 10th Anniversary Brings Visit From Vice President Biden
Vice President Joe Biden is greeted at the National Counterterrorism Center
on August 27, 2014 by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and NCTC Director, Matthew Olsen on the occasion of NCTC's 10th anniversary. Established in August 2004 by Executive Order 13354, NCTC is the primary organization in the U.S. government for integrating and analyzing counterterrorism-related intelligence.
Organizationally a part of the ODNI, NCTC is staffed by personnel from multiple departments and agencies from the Intelligence Community. In this integrated, cross-agency approach to counterterrorism, NCTC embodies a key 9/11 Commission recommendation, which stated that, “NCTC should be a center for joint operational planning and joint intelligence, staffed by personnel from the various agencies.” (Photo via NCTC)
