July 21, 2011

I am pleased to announce that today the President forwarded to the Senate his nomination of Roslyn A. Mazer to be the next Inspector General (IG) for the Department of Homeland Security. As the ODNI IG since 2009, Roslyn has demonstrated an unyielding commitment to strengthening the integrity, efficiency and effectiveness of the ODNI and, as chair of the Intelligence Community (IC) Inspectors General Forum, to fostering collaboration across the IC IG community. She is an excellent choice to be the next DHS IG.

During her tenure here, Roslyn has been instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of accountability for ODNI programs and operations. Her innovative and collaborative approach to cross-agency projects and community-wide initiatives has contributed significantly to intelligence integration.

I congratulate Roslyn on her nomination. I am confident that her wealth of IG experience and dedication to ensuring responsible organizational practices will, pending Senate confirmation, be an asset to DHS.
