IARPA Launches New Research Program to Significantly Improve Adaptive Reasoning and Problem-Solving

The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), announced today that it has embarked on a multi-year research effort to develop and test methods to improve reasoning and problem-solving in healthy, high-performing adults.

DNI Clapper Declassifies Additional Documents Regarding Collection Under Section 501 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act

In June 2013, President Obama directed me to declassify and make public as much information as possible about certain sensitive programs while being mindful of the need to protect sensitive classified intelligence activities and national security. Since then, I have authorized the declassification and public release of numerous documents pertaining to the Government’s collection under Sections 501 (commonly referred to as Section 215 of the USA PATRIOT Act) and 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Statement from DNI James R. Clapper on Intelligence Reforms Announced Today by President Obama

Today, President Obama announced new guidelines for Intelligence Community foreign intelligence surveillance programs. His decisions were guided by recommendations from the Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies, the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board and in close consultation with Congress and Intelligence Community leaders.

Readout of the IC Leadership’s Meeting with the President’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies

The Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, and other Intelligence Community leaders met today with three members of the President’s Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Group’s findings and recommendations in their report, “Liberty and Security in a Changing World,” delivered to the President on December 18, 2013.
