Major Duties and Responsibilities (MDRs)
Research, draft, and revise speeches, briefings, talking points and messages for senior ODNI leaders.
Draft and edit columns and op-ed articles under bylines of senior ODNI leadership for submission to print and web-based media.
Review and edit speeches, briefings and presentations written by others for ODNI leaders to ensure synchronization of message.
Develop talking points, speech inserts, and fact sheets for major ODNI events or themes.
Compose workforce communications for senior ODNI leadership, keeping ODNI staff informed about upcoming events, and serving as a liaison between staff and senior ODNI leadership.
Write/edit official correspondence on behalf of ODNI senior leadership in response to internal & external stakeholder inquiries.
Serve as a public outreach officer, coordinating appearances at events for senior ODNI leadership.
Staff speaking events by senior ODNI leaders when requested, including assisting with advance work, media coordination, and logistics.
Develop and maintain standard ODNI "command briefing" for use by ODNI representatives.
Contribute written content such as news articles for internal publications and new and emerging communication vehicles, such as blogs, audio, video, and other online publications to ensure that key messages are available to all members of the IC and the general public.
Mandatory and Educational Requirements
Experience working as an executive-level speechwriter and preparing executive-level presentations and correspondence.
Strong oral and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to communicate complex information and ideas to general audiences.
Knowledge of the ODNI & Intelligence Community's missions, disciplines, and functions.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment and respond to changing demands.
TS/SCI security clearance required.
Writing experience using the Associated Press Style Guide.
Media relations experience.
Script writing experience.
