Component Mission:

The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads our nation's effort to combat terrorism at home and abroad by analyzing the threat, sharing that information with our partners, and integrating all instruments of national power to ensure unity of effort. The Center serves as the primary organization in the United States Government (USG) for analyzing and integrating all intelligence possessed or acquired by the USG pertaining to terrorism and counterterrorism, and its Director serves as the Counterterrorism Mission Manager. NCTC also serves as the central and shared knowledge bank on known and suspected terrorists and international terrorist groups, as well as their goals, strategies, capabilities, and networks of contacts and support. In addition, NCTC conducts strategic operational planning for counterterrorism activities, coordinating and integrating the efforts of departments and agencies across the Federal Government.

The Presidential Support and Production Group, Disclosure and Dissemination Branch is responsible for preparing NCTC/DI's finished intelligence for disclosure or release to NCTC's foreign allies, preparing finished intelligence for downgrade for the SIPRNET, or managing declassification of finished intelligence for state, local, tribal, or private sector entities and disseminating DI finished intelligence.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (MDRs):

•Produce electronic products for a variety of electronic publication sites.
•Apply the publishing software to populate websites, scan images, and format documents for both hardcopy and electronic output. Identify inefficiencies and perform process improvements for services and products.
•Perform editing and proofreading on a variety of products, manipulate files into different formats, perform control checks and recommend proper distribution of product, ensure production integrity and provide quality control by reviewing products for proper classification and controls, appropriate metadata, and dissemination selections.
•Apply strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, corporate writing standards, and substantive matters in leading discussions to identify and resolve editorial issues and inconsistencies in complex text and graphics; mentor junior employees.

Mandatory and Educational Requirements:

•Technical knowledge of electronic publications and design, to include specific knowledge of current technologies in the electronic and web publishing environments.
•Knowledge of typography, proofreading, document formatting, desktop publishing, internet and IC intranet networks, page layout and design, publication styles and knowledge and ability to conduct minor trouble shooting on multiple computer systems/networks.
•Knowledge of and ability to adhere to policy and guidance as it pertains to the handling of NCTC data on networks and portable media and the posting of information to NCTC, ODNI and IC networks.
•Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a diverse, creative, and fast-paced project team environment, and to efficiently manage time, technical, and administrative resources.
•Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with customers, management, technical staff, and project team members; knowledge and understanding of NCTC mission, organization and structure.

Desired Requirements:


Applicants from federal agencies within the Intelligence Community (IC) may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee, if endorsed by the employing agency. Applicants must have current TS/SCI clearances with polygraph or have the ability to obtain one. The ODNI does not conduct polygraphs or provide security clearances for detailees. Applicants from within the IC must submit an application through the classified IC Joint Duty Program website.
