I would like to add my special thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Committee staff, as well as many officers at ODNI and NCTC, as I have recently become aware there is a tremendous amount of preparation that goes into a confirmation hearing.

After working under three presidents, Nick Rasmussen is stepping down as director of the National Counterterrorism Center. In an exit interview, he tells NPR's Mary Louise Kelly how terrorism threats have changed since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
