ODNI-Sponsored Intelligence Community Centers of Academic Excellence Program at Ole Miss cited for excellence

Mainstream America was introduced formally to the role of intelligence analysts when the movie “Zero Dark Thirty,” detailing the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, hit theaters in December, but for going on five years now, Ole Miss has been training people for that very line of work.Just a few months ago, Ole Miss became one of 29 colleges in the country that is part of the Director of National Intelligence’s National Center of Academic Excellence.

“The thinking behind this program is to help build a diverse intelligence community,” said Mark Ross, Chief of Outreach and Policy in the DNI’s Chief Human Capital Office. “Not just diverse in terms of diversity and background, but where in the United States they come from. The idea is to promote diversity and to develop a pipeline of talent for the intelligence community.”
