Intelligence agencies turn to crowdsourcing

US intelligence agencies hope the "wisdom of the crowd" can help them predict the future.
From a windowless building behind barriers and fences here, scientists, physicians and other experts monitor a range of intelligence and open-source channels for threats to the health of U.S. forces and the homeland.
The Director of National Intelligence is a "geo guy." If only more agencies and private companies had his vision there would be little thought as to how much growth the geospatial industry would see.

The intelligence community is going through a second type of transformation. When Congress created ODNI, the initial goal focused improving information sharing across the 17 intelligence community members. Now, the move is to better share technology.

On Tuesday October 9 Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper addressed the 2012 GEOINT Symposium.
