ODNI Implements Organizational Realignment to Increase Effectiveness

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Office of the Director of National Intelligence today implemented a realignment of the organization’s structure. The realignment follows a thorough review, ordered by the Director of National Intelligence, of ODNI’s existing structure. The review evaluated the agency’s existing structure and produced recommendations that position ODNI to deliver an intelligence advantage for years to come.

“Today we launch the new Directorate of Policy and Capabilities and usher in a new era for Mission Integration,” said DNI John Ratcliffe. “Together, these two directorates, along with our centers and independent offices, will provide the foresight, responsiveness and leadership our mission requires.

“ODNI is committed to delivering our collective best for the Intelligence Community that we are charged to lead and support. Our actions will be transparent, collaborative, value-added and efficient.”

The organization’s new structure comprises two directorates:

  • Mission Integration, focusing on supporting today’s demands for intelligence.
  • Policy and Capabilities, ensuring the IC is well-positioned to anticipate and meet future requirements.

The realignment brings like functions together to better synchronize ODNI’s work, and follows earlier organizational changes implemented earlier this year (announced May 15 and May 8).
