David Shedd, deputy director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, announced his plans to retire after more than 30 years of dedicated and honorable service to our nation.
Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, announced today his plans to retire after more than 30 years of honorable service to our nation.
On January 3, 2014, the Director of National Intelligence declassified and disclosed publically that the U.S. government had filed an application with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court seeking renewal of the authority to collect telephony metadata in bulk, and that the FISC renewed that authority.
Earlier this year in a speech at the Department of Justice, President Obama announced a transition that would end the Section 215 bulk telephony metadata program as it existed, and that the government would establish a mechanism that preserves the capabilities we need without the government holding this bulk data.
I spoke with Rep. Rogers today and thanked him, on behalf of the entire Intelligence Community, for his outstanding leadership and oversight as the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence since 2011.
