WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, consistent with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA), as amended (codified in 50 U.S.C. § 1873(b)), and the Intelligence Community’s (IC) Principles of Intelligence Transparency, we are releasing our seventh annual Statistical Transparency Report Regarding Use of National Security Authorities presenting statistics on how often the government uses certain national security authorities.

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Office of the Director of National Intelligence today issued the following Intelligence Community (IC) statement: “The entire Intelligence Community has been consistently providing critical support to U.S. policymakers and those responding to the COVID-19 virus, which originated in China. The Intelligence Community also concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not manmade or genetically modified."

IC CIO Announces Departure

WASHINGTON, D.C. – John Sherman, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Intelligence Community (IC), today announced that he will depart the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in June to serve as the Principal Deputy CIO for the U.S. Department of Defense.

ODNI Statement on the CARES Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) today issued the following statement: “The recent passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act has given the U.S. government a powerful tool to use in the protection of our valuable partners in the federal contractor workforce, as we together face the COVID-19 crisis. Section 3610 of the CARES Act, ‘Federal Contractor Authority,’ provides flexibility to agencies to reimburse contractors for keeping their employees in a ready state, even when those contractor employees are unable to report to an approved work site or are otherwise unable to telework. The Intelligence Community (IC) is working closely together to implement this important new flexibility."

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Statement from Amanda Schoch, assistant director of national intelligence for strategic communications: “Today, Acting DNI Richard Grenell shared the following personnel announcements effective April 3: Lora Shiao will be the next deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) and will serve as the acting director pending the Senate confirmation of a permanent director. Additionally, Clare Linkins will serve as NCTC’s next executive director, performing the duties of deputy director."
