WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines released the following statement on the confirmation of Kenneth L. Wainstein as Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Intelligence and Analysis:
“On behalf of the Intelligence Community (IC), I warmly welcome Kenneth L. Wainstein to the IC and congratulate him on his Senate confirmation to lead the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A). I cannot think of a better person to take on this leadership role.
“Ken is a former Homeland Security Advisor and experienced public servant, and I look forward to working with him as he fulfills I&A’s critically important mission, which includes the sharing of timely and actionable intelligence with State, Local, Tribal and Territorial, and private sector partners in support of our national security.”
