U.S. intelligence agencies face new, evolving threats spurred by advances in technology that require them to become more agile, innovative and technologically superior to maintain America’s global edge, the director of national intelligence says in the 2019 edition of the National Intelligence Strategy.

The indicators of violent extremist mobilization described within this booklet produced by NCTC, FBI, and DHS are intended to provide a roadmap of observable behaviors that could inform whether individuals or groups are preparing to engage in violent extremist activities.

2019 National Intelligence Strategy

Director of National Intelligence Daniel R. Coats unveiled the 2019 National Intelligence Strategy (NIS) today. The NIS is the guiding strategy for the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) and will drive the strategic direction for the Nation’s 17 IC elements for the next four years.
