(February 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community has scheduled the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 audit of the financial statements of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). The Accountability of Tax Dollars Act of 2002 requires that ODNI prepare and submit audited financial statements annually to Congress and the Director, Office of Management and Budget. An independent public accounting firm will conduct the audit of ODNI’s FY 2022 financial statements (AUD-2022-003).

(May 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) recently released its Semiannual Report to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Congress for the period of October 1, 2021, through March 31, 2022. The National Security Act of 1947 (as amended) requires the IC IG to prepare and submit to the DNI a classified and, as appropriate, unclassified report summarizing the work of the IC IG for the preceding six-month period.

(March 2022) The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) completed a review of the Intelligence Community (IC) Analytic Ombudspersons’ Complaint Processes in December 2021 (INS-2021-004), pursuant to direction set forth in the classified annex to the Joint Explanatory Statement accompanying the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021. The review determined the effectiveness of the processes IC analytic ombudspersons use to receive, assess, and act on complaints associated with potential political pressure in the analytic production and dissemination processes.

The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (IC IG) plans to issue a summary report on Intelligence Community OIGs’ Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Program assessments. In fiscal year 2020, the IC OIGs conducted a joint project to identify reasons why Intelligence Community elements remain at a low maturity level for implementing continuous monitoring requirements. The objectives of this summary report are to consolidate the OIGs’ ISCM data and identify any common themes to improve the IC elements’ continuous monitoring program implementation (AUD-2022-001).
