Inspector General of the Intelligence Community Michael K. Atkinson is pleased to announce the release of the most recent Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community’s (ICIG) Semiannual Report to Congress. This is the second Semiannual Report Inspector General Atkinson has submitted, and the first that includes a full six-month reporting period since he was confirmed by the United States Senate in May 2018.

The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community recently completed its review of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI’s) Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 compliance with the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Act of 2010 (IPERA) (AUD-2019-006).

The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (ICIG) sponsored the Annual Intelligence Community Inspectors General Conference and Awards Program on March 28, 2019. More than 500 professionals from the federal IG community attended the event, making it the largest in the ICIG’s seven-year hosting history.

The Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (ICIG) has stationed drop boxes in common areas across the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI’s) facilities to collect allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement. Drop boxes are located at Liberty Crossing (LX) in LX1 outside the auditorium near CRI; LX2 on the 2nd floor bridge by Dunkin Donuts; Maryland Square 2, 1st floor common area near the auditorium; Intelligence Community Campus–Bethesda (ICC-B) in Erskine Hall near the gym entrance and in the Centrum Hall cafeteria; and at Reston 3 in the common areas near the elevators on the 1st and 6th floors. The drop boxes are an extension of the ICIG’s existing Hotline Program and intake process.

As part of an outreach awareness effort, Principal Deputy Inspector General of the Intelligence Community (ICIG) Robin C. Ashton, along with Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI’s) senior leaders from IC Equal Employment Opportunity & Diversity; Office of Civil Liberties, Privacy and Transparency; Office of the General Counsel; and Office of the Ombudsman, provided information to and answered questions from members of the Strategy & Engagement Directorate’s workforce about oversight and compliance matters.

Atkinson participated in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI’s) Intelligence Community (IC) Ombudsman Forum on January 31, 2019. The Forum also included ODNI’s Office of General Counsel, Civil Liberties Privacy and Transparency Office, and IC Analytic Ombudsman.
