Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse

Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, United States Air Force, is the Director’s Advisor for Military Affairs since August 16, 2020. In his role, Lt. Gen. Kruse serves as the advisor to the Director of National Intelligence on Department of Defense (DOD) activities and issues. He promotes enduring DoD - Intelligence Community (IC) enterprise integration efforts between the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, combat support agency directors, the combatant commands, the military service intelligence chiefs, and other executive leaders across the IC.

 

Lt. Gen. Kruse previously served as the Director for Defense Intelligence for Warfighter Support, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, where he led five directorates ensuring combatant commands had the intelligence programs and policies essential to conduct operations and campaigns. Prior to that, Lt. Gen. Kruse served as the Director for Intelligence, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and the Senior Intelligence Officer in the Indo-Pacific region responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of intelligence operations across the 36-nation theater. His other roles included legislative duties to the U.S. Congress; Programmer and Chief of the Air Force “Engine Room” building the Air Force's annual $120 billion budget, and Senior Special Assistant to the Commander, U.S. European Command.

 

Lt. Gen. Kruse holds a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College; a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the College of Naval Command & Staff at the U.S. Naval War College; a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military College; and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University. He began his military career through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Miami University.
