WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), the research and development arm of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, today announced the start of a multi-year research effort to significantly boost the performance of electrically small antennas (ESAs) — or antennas that are much smaller than the wavelength of signals they send and receive.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – For the 13th consecutive year, the Intelligence Community (IC) has been named as one of the “Best Places to Work in the Federal Government.” The IC ranked fourth overall among large federal agencies with more than 15,000 full-time permanent employees.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines today issued the following statement:

"On behalf of ODNI and the entire Intelligence Community, I welcome Vice Admiral Frank Whitworth as the eighth Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). I have had the great pleasure of working with him in his role as the J2 for the Chairman, and I have found him to be a leader with integrity and passion. An expert strategist and consummate intelligence professional, he will lead NGA's spectacular workforce into the future at a time when its role in our national security could not be more critical.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines released the following statement on the confirmation of Kenneth L. Wainstein as Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Intelligence and Analysis:

“On behalf of the Intelligence Community (IC), I warmly welcome Kenneth L. Wainstein to the IC and congratulate him on his Senate confirmation to lead the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A). I cannot think of a better person to take on this leadership role.

“Ken is a former Homeland Security Advisor and experienced public servant, and I look forward to working with him as he fulfills I&A’s critically important mission, which includes the sharing of timely and actionable intelligence with State, Local, Tribal and Territorial, and private sector partners in support of our national security.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released its report, Best Practices to Protect Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Civil Rights of Americans of Chinese Descent in the Conduct of U.S. Intelligence Activities. The report was prepared in response to Section 5712 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 and Section 620 of the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021. This report is the result of an interagency examination of the privacy, civil liberties, and related civil rights controls used by the Intelligence Community (IC) when conducting intelligence and counterintelligence activities to counter the national security threats posed by the People’s Republic of China.
