Joint Statement on Election Day Preparations

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)—in coordination with federal, state, local, and private sector partners nationwide—are continuing efforts to protect our elections. DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, DNI Dan Coats, and FBI Director Christopher Wray released the following joint statement:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Insider Threat Task Force (NITTF), operating under the joint leadership of the Attorney General and the Director of National Intelligence, announced today the release of the “Insider Threat Program Maturity Framework.”

The National Insider Threat Task Force (NITTF) released the Insider Threat Program Maturity Framework on November 1, 2018.

William Evanina, director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, made a spirited plea for Federal government and private sector organizations to take additional steps to address cybersecurity and include operations at all levels in an “enterprise-wide security apparatus.”

Consistent with 50 U.S.C. 3306(b), the Director of National Intelligence is disclosing to the public, not later than 30 days after the end of the fiscal year, the aggregate amount of funds appropriated by Congress to the National Intelligence Program for Fiscal Year 2018.
