The CIA released 2,500 pages of previously classified President’s Daily Briefing matierlals from the Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford administrations on Wednesday, August 24, at a symposium held by the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, Ca. This follows a previous September 16, 2015 release at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum in Austin, Texas, during which the CIA released previously classified daily briefings it gave to Presidents Lyndon B. The Office of Civil Liberties, Privacy and Transparency (CLPT) leads the integration of civil liberties and privacy protections into the policies, procedures, programs and activities of the Intelligence Community (IC). Its overarching goal is to ensure that the IC operates within the full scope of its authorities in a manner that protects civil liberties and privacy, provides appropriate transparency, and earns and retains the trust of the American people.
