Foreign Malign Influence Center

NCTC Newsroom

FMIC has three mission areas:

Mission Management – integrates government agencies, facilitates information sharing, and develops strategies to mitigate FMI.

Partner Engagement – builds relationships with external partners, including government, civil society, and the private sector to share information and mitigate FMI activities.

Analytic Integration – advances strategic analysis on the FMI problem set, synchronizes analytic efforts across the Intelligence Community, and provides comprehensive assessments to decisionmakers.

Befitting its mission of defending America’s democratic institutions, FMIC is steadfast in its commitment to the rule of law, privacy, civil liberties, oversight, and transparency. To that end, FMIC works closely with ODNI’s Office of General Counsel and Office of Civil Liberties, Privacy, and Transparency.

FMIC is staffed by professionals from diverse backgrounds. To address the persistent and dynamic threat from foreign malign influence, the FMIC team engages with colleagues from a wide variety of institutions, including other IC agencies, the wider U.S. Government (including law enforcement and diplomatic elements), the private sector, civil society, and academia. We welcome mission-oriented applicants with functional and regional expertise who want to join us in mitigating this challenging problem.
