WASHINGTON D.C. — The Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) provided critical intelligence support and coordination for U.S. Central Command’s (CENTCOM) successful transfer of more than 5,700 ISIS detainees from Syria to Iraq, announced last week. This success is the direct result of President Trump's leadership and commitment to the enduring defeat of ISIS, bolstered by NCTC's decades-worth of consistent, accurate intelligence assessments that provided decisionmakers and the Department of War with insight to negotiate the transfers and securely remove the prisoners to Iraq.

 

WASHINGTON D.C. – The Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) provided actionable intelligence to U.S. and Mexican law enforcement partners that led to the arrest of Alfredo Ezequiel Galaviz Jr. in Chihuahua City, Mexico on December 5, 2025. Galaviz was wanted for the murder of a 16-year-old in Texas and is a member of a criminal family that traffics drugs and humans for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
