History

On February 11, 2015 the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism announced the establishment of CTIIC under the auspices of the Director of National Intelligence. CTIIC was established as a result of the IC’s lessons learned in responding to the 2014 cyber attack on Sony Pictures. CTIIC’s responsibilities were codified in a Presidential Memorandum issued on February 25, 2015.

 

The Director of CTIIC, who also serves as the IC’s Cyber Executive, reports to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and serves as the principal advisor to the DNI on cyber threats.

Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center

The Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center (CTIIC) is a diverse team of professionals from across the Intelligence Community (IC) focused on enhancing the integration of cyber intelligence and collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders to protect the United States against cyber threats.

 

CTIIC integrates cyber threat intelligence to inform policymakers about cyber threats to U.S. national interests, supports the development of interagency cyber strategy and policy, facilities information sharing capabilities, serves as the lead federal agency for intelligence support for response to significant cyber incidents, and integrates the IC’s approach to cyber collection and cyber investment.
